I’ve been reading a book that describes different personality types. There are a handful of descriptions that fit me, but one that fits me really well is a “seeker”. I seek to find answers to everyday questions as well as deep philosophical questions. New knowledge about life and living is paramount in my existence. I am curious about many different things, but especially curious about God/Source Energy and how my journey has affected my life and the lives of others. I am on a constant search for wisdom and truth.
I believe being a seeker is a gift and a challenge all in one. As I’m learning somethng new everyday from my natural curiosity, I grow and develop as a person, a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter. I try to use every moment as an opportunity for growth. I aspire to become enlightened. I aspire to know more about how this whole “life on earth” and “life after death” thing works. One of the things I have struggled with is maintaining balance of being a seeker and just simply being.
In the last few years, I have learned that it’s important to step back and just be in the “here and now”. Enjoying the moments of life without having a task to accomplish is equally important. It’s a personal battle of mine, to enjoy the moment. I am always analyzing the past or making predictions about the future. What I have learned about being present and in the “now” is that “now” energy is a healing energy. It lifts burdens from my soul. It allows my mind to declutter, and it physically releases tension. I am proud to be a seeker of truth and wisdom, and I don’t ever want that to escape my soul. I know I have to make time to seek the truth as well as to be present. Balance is key to maximizing strengths!
A few questions…
1. Do you know anyone who is a seeker? In your opinion what makes them a seeker? How have they impacted your life?
2. What is a noun you would use to describe yourself? You could have several, but choose one and explain the qualities of that noun/label you think fits you. Examples: mother, teacher, lover, guide, etc.
3. Do you struggle with taking time to be in the present moment without busy or burdensome thoughts? If so, when can you begin practicing this skill? Who can help you develop the skill?
Growing word by word,
Jackie
